A college closure does not mean that student debt or loans will be forgiven. Former Compass students with student loans must continue to make payment on their student loans. The criteria to qualify for federal student loan discharge is dependent on several factors. More information can be found at https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/closed-school.
Compass College of Film and Media received emergency relief funding from the federal government through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA), and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) to address financial issues encountered by colleges and universities and students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Education requires that institutions receiving these funds provide quarterly reports regarding the use of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) grants.
